The function of the escargot decanter is based on the special aeration effect. A first intensive oxygen transfer takes place when the wine is decanted from the bottle into the Escargot decanter. To fill the Escargot, move the decanter from a horizontal position to standing upright. The wine is aerated for a second time when it is poured from the Escargot decanter into a glass. The special shape of this decanter therefore adds more fresh air to the wine that has already been decanted. The second aeration process is visible by means of a bubbling when the wine flows through the neck of the Escargot decanter. Always hold the decanter using the oval indentation in its rounded part.
