I recently bought a higher powered Kitchen Aid and couldn't wait to try the food grinder. I bought a cheap roast last night and ground it in the food grinder. The meat was perfect after one grind on the coarse wheel - and the blender was only on 2 and the meat was coming out no problem, I was pleasantly surprised! I think my smaller classic Kitchen Aid would also be able to grind meat. I am not sure what fruits and veggies I would grind, but am looking forward to using it to make lunch meat with left over ham and poultry for school! Deff. worth the price! Also, if you're using a roast - the meat needed a bit of fat as it was dry because it was so lean - next time I will add the garlic and spices along with a couple slices of bacon in with the cubes.

Love this attachment. Within hours of unwrapping, I had ground the meat and had a meatloaf in the oven. I also made some mango chutney from the accompanying instructions although the recipe called for peaches which I did not have.
