Rosewood
High-quality rosewood comes from India and is FSC-certified (controlled wood). This very hard wood is tough, durable and benefits from low shrinkage. It is also highly resistant to moisture.
Rosewood is an extremely robust, hard-wearing wood and, thanks to its naturally high oil content, is also highly resistant to moisture. To maximize the service life of knives with wooden handles, never wash them in a dishwasher.
Swiss Quality
A product can be classified as "Swiss Made" if at least 60 % of production costs are occurred in Switzerland. The knives and tools produced by Victorinox are manufactured entirely in Ibach-Schwyz and Delémont. They are thus « Swiss Made » and this is shown on the blade or packaging.

Best knife for the money - This is the best knife I have ever owned. It survived over twenty years in the restaurant biz and now hangs on a magnetic rack over my cutting board at home. I think I paid twenty-five bucks for it back in the late '70s and would pay the $60 all day long to replace it. The knife takes an edge easily and holds it for quite some time. The rosewood handle and lack of bolster makes the "choke up" grip easy and comfortable. Only downside is that i have to make sure I don't leave it in the sink because of the rosewood handle.
